What is Right

One Simple Truth
What is right in your eyes is not always what is good in God’s eyes.

Scripture
Judges 17:6 ESV
In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

I love what Bible commentator Matthew Henry says, “Every man did that which was right in his own eyes, and then they soon did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord.” God created us to submit to Him ultimately. He gave good and godly leaders as a gift to assist us in doing that. What is right in your eyes is not always what is good in God’s eyes. Be careful not to push out every voice that challenges you in love.
